Terms of Service

1. What HansaIndex is

HansaIndex is an editorial publication and reference database covering verified funding rounds, exits, hires, and launches in the Nordic-Baltic startup region. We aggregate publicly reported events, apply editorial judgement, and publish a weekly newsletter and public reference pages.

2. Editorial discretion

We choose what to cover. Inclusion in the newsletter or the public database is at our editorial discretion. We are not obligated to cover any company, event, person, or investor, nor are we obligated to remove coverage on request unless the coverage is factually inaccurate (see §4) or unlawful.

3. Not investment advice

HansaIndex is not investment advice, not legal advice, and not professional advice of any kind. Information is published for general interest and editorial coverage. You are solely responsible for verifying any fact before acting on it. We provide source links so you can do this; you should.

We accept no liability for any investment, hiring, partnership, or business decision made on the basis of information published in the Service.

4. Accuracy and corrections

We do our best to publish accurate information. Despite this, errors happen. If you spot a factual error, email corrections@hansaindex.com with the issue, the URL, and a source. We aim to:

• Acknowledge within 24 hours
• Correct verified factual errors within 72 hours
• Issue a lead correction in the next newsletter for material errors
• Append a dated correction note to the original page

We do not silently amend coverage. Every correction is dated and disclosed.

5. Removal requests

We will remove content if it is unlawful, defamatory, in breach of GDPR (for example, outdated personal data about a non-public figure), or factually false. We will not remove content because a company or investor regrets that the coverage exists or has changed its public stance after the fact. Send removal requests to corrections@hansaindex.com with the URL and the legal basis for the request.

6. Submitting information

If you send us tips, leaks, or claims about events you believe we should cover:

• You confirm you have the right to share the information.
• You grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use, edit, and publish the information in any HansaIndex surface.
• We will protect your identity as a source on reasonable request, but cannot guarantee anonymity against legal compulsion.

We do not pay for tips and do not promise to cover any tip received.

7. Sponsorships and disclosures

HansaIndex may sell sponsorship slots in newsletter issues and on the public site. When we do:

• Sponsored content is clearly labelled as such.
• Sponsors do not see, edit, or veto any editorial content, including coverage of themselves or their competitors.
• Sponsors do not receive subscriber email addresses.
• We may decline any sponsorship that conflicts with our editorial line, without explanation.

8. Subscription and billing (when paid tier is live)

Free newsletter: free. Cancel anytime via the unsubscribe link in any issue.

Paid tiers, when launched, are billed via Stripe. Cancellation is effective at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial periods except where required by EU consumer law (14-day cooling-off for distance contracts; you waive this right when you start consuming paid content before the period ends).

VAT is added where applicable under cross-EU VAT rules.

9. Acceptable use

Don't:

• Scrape or copy substantial parts of the public database for redistribution without permission. Linking is fine; bulk redistribution is not.
• Frame HansaIndex pages, deep-link in a way that misrepresents authorship, or strip our branding.
• Attempt to access non-public parts of the Service.
• Use the Service to harass any natural person, including ourselves.

For research, journalism, or non-commercial use cases that exceed normal reading, email editor@hansaindex.com and ask. We say yes more than no.

10. Intellectual property

Editorial copy, the database schema, layout, and design are owned by Zenas, MB. Logos and trademarks are owned by Zenas, MB. Facts are not copyrightable; we don't claim to own them. The expression of facts (sentences, summaries, takes) is copyrighted to Zenas, MB.

You may quote up to ~150 words from any issue or page with attribution and a link, for commentary, reporting, or analysis. Beyond that, email editor@hansaindex.com.

11. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not promise 100% uptime. The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by the law of the Republic of Lithuania, Zenas, MB's aggregate liability arising out of your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid Zenas, MB in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) €100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under the law of the Republic of Lithuania.

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by good-faith negotiation is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Vilnius District Court.

Consumer subscribers in EU jurisdictions retain their statutory right to bring proceedings in their country of residence.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes are emailed to subscribers and announced in the changelog at the bottom of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
